Ana Jovanovicis one of the founders of Enviro-Quest Europe and its CEO. As a coordinator and team leader she has extensive experience in project management, organizing volunteers, preparing manifestations, coordinating conferences, conducting research, organizing campaigns and surveys, and handling public relations as related to environmental concerns. Her experience also includes managing projects that involve community organization and coordination between social, political, scientific and business groups in the implementation of environmental projects in Serbia.
Snezana B. Kovacevic, MASc., Enviro-Quest Technologies Inc., President
Snezana B. Kovacevic is a chemical engineer with over 20 years of engineering experience in various European and Canadian companies. As founder and president of Enviro-Quest Technologies, Inc., she developed and patented several environmentally friendly formulations for use in the forestry industry, implemented various green technologies generating clean renewable energy from organic waste, and explored opportunities for acquiring additional revenue from the sale of GHG emission offsets. She managed the process of UN carbon credits certification and prepared CDM PDDs (Clean Development Mechanism project design documents) in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol. She has also worked with various national and international regulatory agencies including Environment Canada, EPA and OMRI, among others. For the last few years, she has been promoting North American environmental technologies to produce sustainable energy from waste in Eastern European countries.
Svetlana Karabas is a chemical engineer with over 20 years of diverse experience in various Serbian companies such as Soya Protein (Becej), Altech Fermin (Senta), Vodokanal (Becej) and more.She has been involved in various projects that involve the application of various biotechnologies and environmental aspects of waste management such as waste water treatment, biodegradation of oils in waste water, composting, water supplying systems etc. In Enviro-Quest Europe she is actively involved in coordinating and implementing projects in Serbia.
May Chew, P.Eng., Enviro-Quest Technologies Inc., Project Manager
May Chew, a professional engineer, has diverse experience in applications engineering, project management, system design, technical support and customer relations. As Project Manager with Enviro-Quest Technologies, she has been involved in the evaluation of various environmental technologies and finding optimal solutions for the production of sustainable energy from biomass and waste streams. She has also worked with SAIC, Ballard Power, Westport Innovations, Questair, etc. on leading edge projects in alternative fuel technology involving prototype fuel cell power plants, stationary and mobile power plants, hydrogen and natural gas vehicles, and high pressure gas separation. In addition to setting up infrastructure, testing and commissioning systems at owner or customer sites in Canada and the USA, she has been active with various regulatory authorities, safety and codes committees in the alternative fuel industry.
John Zekic, BA, Enviro-Quest Technologies Inc., Financial Manager
John Zekic has been a public accountant for over 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a BA in Commerce. For more than 10 years, he was also the controller and director of two publicly traded companies on the Vancouver Stock Exchange (Canalaska Resources Ltd., Freegold Recovery Inc.) and the corporate accountant for a start-up company (Fetchomatic Inc.) listed on NASDAQ. As Financial Manager with Enviro-Quest Technologies, he has been involved in the financial and economic analysis of the company’s business plans, international and domestic projects.
Dr. Richard Branion, University of British Columbia (UBC), Technical Adviser
Richard Branion is Professor Emeritus at UBC with research interests in environmental engineering, wastewater treatment, air pollution, aerobic and anaerobic processes, biofuel generation, and many other environmental issues. He has been a consultant and technical advisor with Enviro-Quest Technologies (Canada) for more than 10 years. In 2007, he visited various industrial facilities and presented at seminars and conferences in Serbia. He has published many research papers and articles and is a member of TAPPI USA, Water Environment Federation, Society of Chemical Industry, and various other associations.
Dr.Victor Lo, University of British Columbia (UBC), Technical Adviser
Dr. Lo's research interests include Food Engineering (thermal processing, dehydration, concentration and membrane technology) and Environmental Engineering (treatment of municipal, industrial, food and agricultural wastes, bio-conversion and utilization of bio-wastes). He has published over 140 papers and technical reports, in various areas of environmental engineering, with an emphasis on bio-resources, food processing and agriculture waste. Projects currently in progress include the development of biowaste treatment and utilization systems for the bio-resource industries, particularly, the food processing and the agricultural industries.
